A SHORT HISTORY OF SAN UP FARM

Our family owned and operated equine facility was established in 1967 by Terrie and Nancy Sapp. The original 30 acre farm is situated in the small town of Kernersville, North Carolina, just off interstate 40 between Greensboro and Winston-Salem. Terrie passed away in March of 2009 and leaves a great legacy behind. Nancy remains in Kernersville watching after their home place, while Kelly will continue to make a greater name for their business in Advance. Terrie’s love for God and singing, witty character, and talent with horses will be greatly missed. However, we know he’s in a better place where he can enjoy watching his family and San Up Farm continue to prosper.

The farm was named for the great sire San Up Leo, our first stallion with an impeccable pedigree going back to Leo San of the King Ranch. San Up Star, pictured on right, became the next San Up stallion producing hundreds of babies who accumulated countless AQHA points and numerous NRHA champions. His offspring are known for their good minds and superior athletic ability. "Star" passed away in the beginning of 2008 and is now a legend amongst the stars. Our breeding program continues with Gallo Del Corazon, "Bruce ", who is proving to have all the ability, if not more, in producing excellent show horses!
